I Did It!

The hypnosis practice session was postponed last weekend because I was sick to today. This was the first time I actually tried to put someone into a deep hypnotic trance.
I started off with the Elman induction but we couldn’t stop laughing - stupid things. Whenever I’d say something wrong or stutter, we’d laugh. Whenever I couldn’t remember the exact script, I made something up and it ends up being funny. For example, when we started counting down for the mental relaxation, I couldn’t remember what I should say about “them” so I ended up making my own metaphor and said “Just throw them out the window” ending up in us cracking up.
So we gave up on the Elman Induction and went to the 8 Word Induction. This too failed, but he said he felt the initial “trance” when I said sleep, but his mind began to wander after I began to rock his head to deepen.
Next came the arm extended - rigid steel bar drop induction. This one worked and I successfully bound his arms to his side.
This victory encouraged me to go back to the Elman induction. I finished the whole script and attempted to anesthetize his arm. I pinched as hard as I could and he didn’t even flinch. Huzaa!
After I brought him out I told him that I pinched his arm as hard as I could and he didn’t believe me. I pinched him in his regular state and this time he felt the pain. Ahhh. Victory tastes sweet.
So the big question, what should I do for next weekend when we are practicing again? I’m thinking of giving him the ability to anesthetize himself when needed but what other suggestions can/should I give?

I remember the first time I put my girlfriend under I was nervous as hell so I got the smart idea to look up an induction on youtube and simply repeat what was said while wearing earphones so she wouldnt hear it as well
she was under in half the time the video took and I was lost half way there, still nervous as hell but at least I knew what to say most of the time
great blog btw very fascinating, keep up the great work.
Hehe. Clever.

Congratz my friend.
I would recommend you keep practicing techniques such as the elman as much as you can. Once you do it enough times it will become habit. Keep working on the 8 word induction as well. It has been my favorite and as long as you have eliminated fear and build up what to expect it will work wonders. Once again congratz and the rest is down hill from here.
